Communication between CSZ staff and families is essential to our children’s learning. Over the course of the year, we communicate with Religious School families in a variety of ways.
From the Office of Youth and Family Learning
Weekly Shabbat Shalom E-mail Newsletter
Every week on Friday afternoons, Ari Reis, Director of Youth and Family Learning, sends an e-mail newsletter to all Religious School families. The Shabbat Shalom e-mail includes upcoming Religious School dates and events, general announcements and information relevant to all Religious School families, upcoming events in the CSZ community. The Religious School e-mail is sent through Constant Contact. Often, e-mails coming via Constant Contact end up in spam folders or “promotions” tabs in gmail and other messaging systems. If you are not receiving our e-mails weekly, please make sure you check your spam and promotions folders. If you still don’t see them, let us know!
Remind Text Messaging
We have subscribed to a text messaging service called Remind. We will be using this service to send updates about snow cancellations and reminders for special events. You can learn more about Remind here: www.remind.com. Remind is an opt-in service. Subscription instructions will be sent in September.
From the Religious School Educators:
In early September, the educators send welcome letters via email to the children in their class. These letters welcome the children to Religious School, tell them a little about themselves, and possibly ask the children to bring something to the first day of class or think about a question they will be exploring this year.
Each teacher posts weekly on our CSZ Religious School blog to keep you informed about what happened at Religious School during that week’s session.
CSZ Religious School Facebook Page
Our Education department posts regular photos and updates to the CSZ Religious School Facebook page both during and after class. Please “like” and follow the page so that you will see regular updates!
In January/February, we hold parent/teacher conferences with your child’s Hebrew teacher. Parent/Teacher Conferences are an opportunity for parents to learn more about the Religious School curriculum and your child’s experience, progress, and participation midway through the year.
