Insights from Ladino Songs: Advice from the Women of Jewish Spain
with Leahaliza Lee

Leahaliza Lee devotes herself to songs from Sephardic world. Through Judeo-Spanish traditional song, Leahaliza brings to life moments from the lives of women silenced in the nearly forgotten history of Spain’s once-vibrant and long-gone Jewish communities. Leahaliza will provide background from historic sources that will help listeners understand the world from which the songs emerged, and the advice they still provide today.

Leahaliza has performed at Carnegie Hall, the New York Jewish Music Festival, Wayne State University Cohn-Haddow Center for Judaic Studies, Frankel Institute for Advanced Judaic Studies at the University of Michigan, and the Michigan Festival of Sacred Music.

Come early for sips, sweets and schmoozing before the learning begins!
