Are you thinking about downsizing and possibly making a change to your home?

Join us on Thursday, April 23 at 10:30 for brunch and a discussion with Realtors, Bradley Resnick and Evan Partridge and Move Managers, Nicole Hyman and Kristyn Drury from Real T Simplistic around what to consider when looking to downsize.

Bradley Resnick is a realtor with Berkshire Hathaway Home Service-Kee Realty. He loves our community and helping people in our community transition to a place that helps fit their needs. His family has been part of this congregation since the late 1950s, He became a real estate professional since he wanted to help families—especially people like his own parents—navigate the process of downsizing and moving into a home that better fits their next stage of life. He understands that this transition is not just about selling a house; it’s about memories, family, and sometimes big emotions. His focus is always on providing personalized service, clear guidance, and making the process feel manageable and comfortable.

Evan Partridge is also a long-time Metro Detroit resident with strong ties to the community. He has been a licensed Realtor since 2005 and brings over 20 years of experience helping clients make confident, informed decisions. Evan is known for his steady approach, attention to detail, and commitment to making every transaction as smooth as possible. He understands that downsizing is more than just a real estate move—it’s a life transition—and he approaches it with patience and care.

Real T Simplistic, a company that works in an industry of Move Management. As move managers, they help residents and their families navigate one of life’s biggest transitions: moving. From sorting, downsizing, and organizing, to packing, coordinating the move, and setting up your new home, they handle every detail.

Real T Simplistic was co-founded, nine years ago, by Kristyn Drury and Nicole Hyman, both Certified Move Managers through the National Association of Specialty & Senior Move Managers. Their training includes understanding the emotional and physical aspects of aging and moving.

Kristyn brings a banking background — she loves a good spreadsheet and excels at the logistical side of helping clients transition into senior living communities.

Nicole, on the other hand, comes from a social work background — she hates spreadsheets but has a gift for connecting emotionally with clients, meeting them where they are as they move from their longtime family home into a new phase of life.

Curriculum

Our curriculum is written for our school by our Rabbis and Director of Youth and Family Learning. Each grade level has specific goals and learning targets that encompass the following areas:

Learning and practicing Jewish rituals, holidays, and ethical actions, emphasizing how these observances connect individuals to Jewish tradition and community.

Fostering a connection to Israel by exploring its geography, history, and significance as the Jewish homeland.

Centering on learning and understanding Torah stories, characters, and teachings, and applying their lessons to daily life.

Emphasizing the importance of ethical behavior, acts of kindness (Gemilut Chasadim), and fulfilling obligations like Tzedakah (charity).

Exploring the meaning and practice of prayer, teaching students how to communicate with God and understand the significance of different prayers.

Focusing on learning the Hebrew alphabet, vocabulary, and basic reading skills to engage with Jewish texts and prayers.

Each grade level explores these themes through engaging and age-appropriate lessons. Teachers use a variety of teaching methods and resources, including the Chai Curriculum.

Staff

We are fortunate to have a dedicated team of professional Jewish educators. Our teachers receive weekly planning time, during which they use our curriculum and learning goals to craft engaging lesson plans. They benefit from regular coaching and feedback from our Director of Youth and Family Learning and participate in ongoing professional development throughout the year. Our educators are passionate about their students and committed to their growth and success.

Family Programs

Throughout the year, we invite families to celebrate with us! Parents, grandparents, and siblings are welcome to join us for special Religious School mornings filled with music, food, and community celebration as we observe holidays such as Sukkot, Tu B’Shevat, and Passover as a school community. Families and students are also encouraged to attend our weekly Shabbat services, where we offer youth activities for children of all ages. Participating in Shabbat helps our students connect their learning and apply it in a congregational setting, fostering a deeper connection to our synagogue community.
