Conservative (Masorti) Judaism in Israel, there are a growing number of Jews who define themselves as Masorti (Conservative), choosing a middle ground between the secular and Ultra-Orthodox (Haredi) worldviews. As part of a leadership mission organized by the North American Association of Synagogue Executives (NAASE), Dr. Robert Rich had an opportunity to meet with congregational rabbis and lay leaders, observe first-hand the issues of concern to Masorti Jews, and discuss with political and academic leaders the hopes of sustaining our values in Israel during this challenging time. In this travelogue, Dr. Rich will explain the needs of pluralism in Israel and how we, as Conservative Jews worldwide, can help.
