HAMANTASCHEN BAKE

Come bake with CSZ Sisterhood! Join us on Zoom for a digital baking class led by Dr. Sharon Noble Goldish, owner of My Homeys Bakery. We’ll make dough together, learn about gourmet Hamantaschen, and have a delicious evening. Free to all CSZ members – everyone is welcome! MAKE A CHALLAH, GIVE A CHALLAH

Join CSZ members across the community as we bake challot together online. Everyone is welcome to join us as we meet on Zoom to learn from Pam Turkin of Baking with Pam, including tips, tricks and braiding. Click HERE to reserve your place.

Help us fight food insecurity, and have fun at the same time! Join CSZ members across the community as we bake challot together online. We’ll bake to donate to Heart 2 Hart Detroit, a non-profit working to feed and assist the homeless in Detroit. Click HERE to watch a short video on how your contributions help.

When you’re done baking, how do you donate your freshly-baked challah? Swing by CSZ during our contactless Mishloach Manot pickup, see the CSZ clergy in their Purim costumes, and drop off your challah at the same time! You do not need to be registered to pick up a Mishloach Manot bag in order to come by the shul and leave your donations.

This year we are celebrating our Purim Chag from the comfort of our homes, and CSZ can energize the holiday! Please join us in the fun by registering in advance for a Mishloach Manot Bag. The bags are free, but reservations are required no later than February 16, 2021, so we know how many to prepare. Then come out to the CSZ campus. You’ll stay safe in your car and wave to our costumed clergy as they put the bags in your vehicle! Masks are a MUST but are also encouraged to get into the Purim spirit. Please drive up, grab a bag, and say Chag Sameach! Register HERE to receive a bag!


FOOD DONATIONS FOR YAD EZRA

CSZ members contribute generously each year to a food collection to benefit Yad Ezra. All food donations you bring to our Mishloach Manot Bag Pick-up event will be collected at the event, and greatly appreciated.

The community is invited to join and fulfill the mitzvah of hearing Megillat Esther, the Purim story. Representatives from each congregation will participate in reading of the Megillah. Get your groggers ready! Following the reading, enjoy the comedy of Joel Chasnoff. Joel will bring a smile to your face when he shares the Jokes On Us: The Joys and Oys of All Things Jewish. PURIM MORNING MEGILLAH READING

Join us as we mark the Yahrzeit of Cantor Sidney Rube and celebrate the holiday of Purim! Cantor Rube’s sons will join to CSZ Clergy and the Minyanaires to lead us in prayer and chant Megillah for us as we honor the Cantor’s memory by observing the Purim holiday. Click HERE to participate via Zoom.
