Howard Lupovitch is a Professor of History and the Director of the Cohn Haddow Center for Judaic Studies. He is a fourth-generation Detroiter, and a graduate of Hillel Day School of Metropolitan Detroit, the University of Michigan, and Columbia University, where he earned a PhD in Jewish History. He has taught at Cornell University, Colby College, the University of Western Ontario, and the University of Michigan, where he was also a fellow at the Frankel Institute for Advanced Judaic Studies. Dr. Professor Lupovitch specializes in Hungarian and Habsburg Jewish History, and is the author of Jews at the Crossroads: Tradition And Accommodation During the Golden Age of the Hungarian Nobility, 1729-1878 and Jews and Judaism in World History.
