CSZ Member ShulCloud Account Log-in

We’re excited to give you access to your member account on our vastly improved and engaging new Congregation Shaarey Zedek online member database system powered by ShulCloud. With this system (used by more than 1200 other congregations), you can:

  • Connect more easily with other members through the online directory
  • Manage your own information, including yahrzeits, contact addresses, and more
  • Register for events

ShulCloud is designed to provide a secure and private way to view your transaction history, enter payment methods, set up recurring payments, and make donations. There is so much you can do when you use your account!

We need just a little help from you to get started. Please take a few minutes to follow the steps below:

  1. In order to set (or reset) your password, follow these steps:
  2. Go to shaareyzedek.shulcloud.com on the web
  3. Click on the grey “Login” box in the upper right corner of the page
  4. Click on “Forgot Password” at the bottom of the box that pops up
  5. Enter the e-mail address that you have previously used with the synagogue (if we don’t have your e-mail address yet, or you need to change it, please give us a call)
  6. Click on the orange “E-mail Password” button.
  7. Click the My Profile tile to verify and edit your profile information.
  8. Click the My Family tile to verify and edit your family information.
  9. Click the My Directory Listing tile to change your directory information and set display and sharing preferences. The directory is accessible to all members. Upload a photo of the adult members of your family (recommended).

You can access the synagogue dashboard from this website by clicking on the “Members” link in the upper right corner. You will see a dashboard of options (“buttons”) related to your account, including personal and family information, financial information, congregational mailing information, and school and events information.

On the dashboard, you will find an area called My Financial Information. We know that this may look a bit different from our statements in the past, but we trust you will find the system user friendly. When you choose to use online payment options (credit/debit card or eCheck), note neither the synagogue nor ShulCloud store or have access to your bank or credit card information on its servers.

We know you may have questions, and we encourage you to explore the new system. If you’re having difficulty logging on, please check our Member How to Guide, or give us a call in the office at 248.357.5544 during business hours or e-mail shulcloud@shaareyzedek.org and we’ll be happy to help.

If you have comments to share about the new system, please feel free to contact me. Thank you for your patience as we all learn a new system, and for partnering with us to make the user experience more engaging and efficient for the CSZ family!

Curriculum

Our curriculum is written for our school by our Rabbis and Director of Youth and Family Learning. Each grade level has specific goals and learning targets that encompass the following areas:

Learning and practicing Jewish rituals, holidays, and ethical actions, emphasizing how these observances connect individuals to Jewish tradition and community.

Fostering a connection to Israel by exploring its geography, history, and significance as the Jewish homeland.

Centering on learning and understanding Torah stories, characters, and teachings, and applying their lessons to daily life.

Emphasizing the importance of ethical behavior, acts of kindness (Gemilut Chasadim), and fulfilling obligations like Tzedakah (charity).

Exploring the meaning and practice of prayer, teaching students how to communicate with God and understand the significance of different prayers.

Focusing on learning the Hebrew alphabet, vocabulary, and basic reading skills to engage with Jewish texts and prayers.

Each grade level explores these themes through engaging and age-appropriate lessons. Teachers use a variety of teaching methods and resources, including the Chai Curriculum.

Staff

We are fortunate to have a dedicated team of professional Jewish educators. Our teachers receive weekly planning time, during which they use our curriculum and learning goals to craft engaging lesson plans. They benefit from regular coaching and feedback from our Director of Youth and Family Learning and participate in ongoing professional development throughout the year. Our educators are passionate about their students and committed to their growth and success.

Family Programs

Throughout the year, we invite families to celebrate with us! Parents, grandparents, and siblings are welcome to join us for special Religious School mornings filled with music, food, and community celebration as we observe holidays such as Sukkot, Tu B’Shevat, and Passover as a school community. Families and students are also encouraged to attend our weekly Shabbat services, where we offer youth activities for children of all ages. Participating in Shabbat helps our students connect their learning and apply it in a congregational setting, fostering a deeper connection to our synagogue community.
